Surbiton kitchen and dining room extension

This project consisted of a full width, 6m long single storey rear extension to an end terrace house with bathroom and living room modifications. We also created a downstairs toilet and modified the bathroom above to fit a new large walk-in shower.

We were concerned there was not enough headroom in the kitchen, so we recommended lowering the extension by 180mm to give more headroom. Our design team also suggested pitching the ceilings along the line of the rafters which provided a stunning ceiling shape and these changes made a huge difference to the overall feeling of space within the room.

Steel beams, posts, and flitch beams were installed and the roof was then pitched and tiled and, an old chimney removed to give more space in the bathroom above.

We fitted underfloor heating, a fantastic system that added wonderful warmth to the room with the additional benefit of no space being lost to less efficient radiators.

We installed a lovely and well thought out German kitchen from Aqua kitchens which went together beautifully and precisely.
