This is best demonstrated by the unique characteristic of our vaulted ceiling roof, which was one of Steve's personal ideas, and is now the best feature in our kitchen! Over a four month period Steve and his team transformed my warehouse conversion from a series of unloved student bedsits into a modern, characterful home. The house was stripped back to the bones, rooms were reconfigured, new bathrooms and kitchen installed, radiators replaced by a discreet and eco-friendly air heating and cooling system, every inch of storage space optimised and (the pièce de resistance!) the cheap and ugly staircase removed, its elegant replacement has completely transformed the house.
I could not have hoped for better builders and indeed cannot imagine embarking on such a huge project without Steve's vision, expertise and attention to detail. Along the way there were various issues which might have floored lesser builders, Steve addressed each one with a "can do" approach, thought around the problems and came up with solutions.
He is a man of infinite patience and seems impossible to fluster! The team were so different from the stereotypes one hears about, always on time, very hard working and utterly professional. I cannot recommend them more highly.

It's been a great experience working with Steve as his dedication to getting the best results shows. I have worked with Steve Ross on a number of projects, starting with a particularly complicated bespoke bathroom refurbishment in south west London. The design involved creating a one-off stone bath from timber framing, lined with deitra matting and dressed with Baseig Blue limestone. The bath was set behind a horizontal sycamore timber screen, which had been designed to a tight curve to reflect the bow of a ship.
The toilet and basin had to be hung off this screen, and lighting and sanitary fittings somehow notched in. From the outset Steve showed a remarkable intelligence towards the complexity of how to marry everything together. It is no average building contractor who could think through the scheme, plan ahead and manage to combine each trade with a broader understanding of how the thing would look in the end. Steve put forward suggestions on how to achieve the look, when my own imagination fell short, and together we produced a stunning bathroom, for which we have received high praise from the client. We went on to complete a further bathroom for the same client and some other minor works.
Steve then completed a housing extension, again in south west London. The client was very particular about the finish and careful on the budget, so Steve had to work both well and efficiently. The result is a successful family kitchen, with well detailed roof lights and interiors. The client is very pleased.
Steve has also successfully run and completed a retail refurbishment in Notting Hill. There was a complicated chain of command, as the design came from an in-house architect, while my skills were needed to coordinate the scheme and get it through planning and building control. Once again Steve’s charisma and level headedness won the respect of the in-house architect and the scheme was completed smoothly, on time and on budget, with great camaraderie maintained throughout. He even had to deal with troublesome neighbours who could have made life very difficult.

I have a flat in Fulham that I had rented out to tenants for several years. It had become tired and dilapidated and needed a complete refurbishment but I kept putting this off as I knew it would be a big undertaking. London NZ Refurbishment came highly recommended to me from friends who live in Fulham. Their bathroom which Steve from London NZ had put in has been on TV!! Steve went to my flat on several occasions to measure up and look at the plans before giving me the final price. During that time there was another leak and he fixed that immediately, avoiding further damage to the flat below.
He was on site every day by 8am, worked a full day and was always contactable. He is a man of great integrity, honest and decent. If there were any problems he sorted them out. He worked very well with the surveyor, taking on board any suggestions or changes the surveyor made.
He totally refurbished the flat: new bathrooms, tiling, new kitchen, a new roof, new windows new ceilings, cornice, new floors and also new central heating and boiler.
Steve is very good on design, he changed the total look of the flat and brought it into the 21st century. He advised me on colours for paint, carpets, cupboards, work surfaces and many more. He also has the patience of a saint. When we had a delay with our windows, he managed to work on another section until they were finished. He phoned Peter Jones and arranged all the deliveries of the kitchen appliances. He would phone the bathroom and kitchen suppliers if anything was missing. The quality of his work is more than excellent. He would suggest things that I had not thought of, and, in fact, made a huge difference.
I thought it was going to be a nightmare job so I kept stalling this job. I am so pleased I found Steve because the job went very well and all of the problems were sorted out for me. I was very busy in Dartford working and going made with another builder or cowboy shall we say who was building an extension for us. We had to sack our builder here he was so bad and Steve even offered to help us out and finish the kitchen here at home.
I still cannot believe everything Steve has achieved at the flat. It looks really wonderful and modern a complete transformation. I have recommended Steve to all my friends and I recommend him to you too.

We have known Steve Ross and worked with LNZ Refurbishments for several years now. He was introduced to use by a good friend for whom he had built a deck inspired by the decks he was so used to building in New Zealand. We were most impressed and employed him to do the same for us, converting a miserable back yard in Fulham to an amazing outdoor space where you really wanted to spend all your time during the summer months. This marked the start of our working relationship, which has developed into a trusting partnership during which time we have seen Steve’s workmanship mature into that of a master craftsman.
Following our delight with our deck, we commissioned Steve to redesign our living room at our previous home. This helped us demand a high asking price when we sold the property in 2002. We were overwhelmed with offers; a reflection of the high standard of work Steve had incorporated into the project.
On moving to our current home, Steve was the natural choice to help us turn a run-down four-storey house in Fulham into our dream home. He has now worked on several projects with us, including installation of our kitchen and helping with the design and construction of our three bathrooms as well as general decoration of the bedrooms and hallway. The bathrooms were a real test of his craftsmanship in that one required him to bring life to a bespoke limestone bath from our architects’ conceptual plans, which of course came with no instructions! The bathroom is a real credit to his creative ability to laterally think how to solve what seem to be insolvable problems and his attention to detail.
Our most recent project was to develop our master bedroom and en-suite bathroom. On this occasion, the architect’s plans were our ideas drawn onto a piece of graph paper! Steve turned our ideas into a bathroom which is of utmost quality and has featured on the front cover of the Kitchens and Bathrooms supplement of House and Gardens magazine.
Without Steve I doubt that some of our projects would have left the ground. He has turned often scanty drawings into creditable pieces of work fit for the UK’s top interior design magazine. Not only that, he is totally dependable, honest and a really likeable guy… there aren’t many London builders you can say that about! He comes highly recommended…
